Army practiced drones and anti-drone in desert area

The Indian Army has conducted drone and counter-drone exercises, focused on developing and testing the theoretical rationale for their operations. This will strengthen the force’s response capability against emerging air threats.

This exercise named Air Coordination-II was conducted on 28-29 October in the forward areas of the desert area under the Southern Command. The headquarters of this command is Pune.

“The exercise was designed to test the Indian Army’s readiness for next generation warfare by integrating diverse air and ground resources in a realistic, electronic warfare and competitive operational environment and with coordination between multi-domain command and control centres,” the Defense Ministry said.

The two-day exercise focused on developing and testing doctrinal rationale for drone and anti-drone operations to ‘strengthen the Indian Army’s response capability against emerging aerial threats,’ a statement said. Lieutenant General Dheeraj Seth, ‘General Officer Commanding-in-Chief’ of Southern Command, appreciated the success of the exercise.
