Appointment of 1,300 nurses in Delhi government hospitals, Ayushman van was flagged off

The Delhi government appointed more than 1,300 new nursing officers on Sunday to strengthen the healthcare system in the national capital and launched the Ayushman Bharat registration van.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Health Minister Pankaj Singh and other senior ministers were present at the event. Addressing the people, Chief Minister Gupta severely criticized the previous government and alleged that he allowed the capital structure to deteriorate.

He said, Delhi’s healthcare in the past was in such a poor condition that only 0.42 hospital beds were available per 1,000 people. He said, 38 hospitals had only six MRI machines and 12 CT scan machines. Patients often had to return due to lack of medicines.

Gupta alleged widespread corruption under the Mohalla Clinic initiative. He claimed that corruption took place in the purchase of medicines and hospital construction, 22 hospitals were announced but they never were completed.

Addressing the newly appointed employees, Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh said that his contribution in strengthening the city’s healthcare system would be important. He said, these nurses and health workers will be the backbone of a new, strong healthcare structure in the capital.

BJP President JP Nadda congratulated the newly appointed officials and described the occasion as a historic moment. He said, after 15 years, these nursing officers have finally got job security. This is not just the result of a government order, this is the result of the people of Delhi choosing the BJP.
