Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is often in discussion about his statements. Recently, he has raised objections against the smoking warning shown on the screen to show the characters into the film. He says that such warings bother the audience.
In a conversation with ‘Indeevier’, Anurag Kashyap said, ‘The warnings associated with smoking and drinking alcohol in mood-driven films like Ciners make the audience away from the deep experience that the filmmaker has made with great effort. Despite taking the case to the court, the case went on pulling, the film was leaked and finally he had to release the film with those disclaimers.

Anurag Kashyap said, I had sued the censor board for maintaining these disclaimers in my film ‘Agli’ in 2013. I argued that this is a basic threat to artistic expression. The matter was prolonged and finally we had to leave the fight and release it after the pirated version of the film.
He says, a filmmaker makes many efforts to tie the audience to the film. It uses scenes, songs and other nuances. But before the audience can feel that experience, the shocking ad in the film affects those experiences.
