Director Anurag Kashyap has broken his silence on social media amid speculation of leaving Mumbai and distance from filmmaking. Posting on X (first Twitter), the director has made it clear that he has only changed the city, not profession.

Anurag wrote- ‘I have changed the city, did not leave filmmaking. Those who are thinking that I have disappeared as a frustrate, know that I am here and so busy that I am working more than Shah Rukh Khan (I have to do, because I do not make money like him). I do not have dates until 2028.
Kashyap further wrote- ‘My five directorial films are coming this year. Perhaps three now and two at the beginning of next year. My IMDB is the longest and I am facing so much workload that three offers have to be said every day.
At the end of the post, he also responded to the trolls, whose language has become a topic of discussion on social media.

In fact, recently Anurag had expressed displeasure about Bollywood in some interviews. In a conversation with The Hindu, he said, ‘This industry is now very poisonous. Everyone is running behind the club of just 500 or 800 crores. Creativity has disappeared. People here pull you down instead of raising you. ‘
In another interview, he had told The Hollywood Reporter India, ‘It was not fun to make a film here. Everything begins with a strategy to sell. I want to leave Mumbai and go to South, where I get to learn something new. Otherwise I will die from inside. ‘

Apart from direction, Anurag is also active as an actor. Recently, he has shared an update of his first Hindi-Telugu Billinguel film ‘Dakot’, in which he is acting. As a director, his previous film ‘Kennedy’ was a good appreciation in the International Film Festival.
