The war against anti-social elements on the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann got a major breakthrough today when the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) ​​of the Punjab Police arrested another member of the gangster Sonu Khatri gang from Jalandhar. .
Giving information in this regard, Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav said that the arrested accused has been identified as Sajan Gill alias Gabbar resident of Fateh Nangal District Gurdaspur, who currently lives in Khambra Colony of Jalandhar.

This action has been taken four days after AGTF arrested three key shooters of the gangster Sonu Khatri gang along with three ultra-modern pistols of foreign .32 bore under a pan India operation. Accused Sukhman Brar was arrested from the Indo-Nepal border when he was trying to flee to Nepal, while the other two accused Jaskaran Singh alias Jassi and Jograj Singh alias Joga were arrested from Gurugram. Gangster Sonu Khatri is a close associate of terrorist Harvinder Rinda.

DGP Gaurav Yadav said that during the preliminary interrogation of the three arrested shooters, it has come to light that the accused Sajan Gill alias Gabbar was involved in the recent Metro Plaza shooting incident at Zirakpur, as he followed the instructions of Sonu Khatri, a foreign-based handler. had provided technical and logistical support in this matter.
He said that on getting a tip-off, AGTF police teams under the supervision of ADGP Pramod Ban arrested Sajan from Jalandhar. AIG Sandeep Goyal, who is leading this operation, while sharing more details, said that the arrested accused has an old criminal record. He said that further investigation in this regard is going on.
In this regard, an FIR has been registered under Sections 307, 506, 34, 427 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 25 of the Arms Act at Zirakpur police station. No. 210 dated 21/07/2023 is already registered.
