Another era in Indian cricket, Cheteshwar Pujara announced retirement

Another era in Indian cricket has come to an end. In fact, Cheteshwar Pujara, who is called the Test wall of the Indian team after the great batsman Rahul Dravid, has announced retirement from all the formats of cricket. Cheteshwar Pujara will not be seen playing not only in international cricket but also in professional domestic cricket. Pujara played the last international cricket match for India in 2023, which was the final of the World Test Championship 2023.

Right -handed batsman Pujara gave information about his retirement through social media. He wrote a long post that, wearing an Indian jersey, singing the national anthem and trying to give his best as soon as it steps on the field- its real meaning is impossible to say in words, but as it is said that every good thing has to end and this has happened. With immense gratitude, I have decided to retire from all formats of Indian cricket. Thank you for the love and support of all of you.

37-year-old Pujara wrote in his retirement note that, as a small town Rajkot, I had come out with my parents to touch the stars and dreamed of being a part of the Indian cricket team. Then I did not even know that this game would give me so much- precious opportunities, experience, purpose, love and above all to represent your state and this great nation. Wearing Indian jersey, singing the national anthem and trying to give your best as soon as you step on the field- its real meaning is impossible to describe in words, but as it is said that every good thing has to end and this has happened. With gratitude I have decided that I am retiring from all formats of Indian cricket.

Pujara further wrote that, I am heartily grateful to BCCI and Saurashtra Cricket Association. Who gave me opportunity and support in my career. I also thank all the teams, franchises and counties that I also thank all of them. If I had not received the invaluable guidance of my guide, coaches and spiritual gurus, I would not have reached here. I will always be indebted to him. All their colleagues, support staff, net bowlers, analysts, logistics teams, umpires, ground sta, scorers media personnel and all those who work tirelessly behind the curtains and enable us to play these games.

At the moment, he made his debut in international cricket for India in 2010. Since then, he played 103 Tests and only 5 ODIs by 2023. He could not do anything special in ODIs because during this time he scored only 15 runs in ODIs. He played in this format from 2013 to 2014. He never got a chance in T20 International cricket. At the same time, Pujara has scored 7195 runs in 103 Tests, including 19 centuries and 35 half -centuries and 3 double centuries.
