An army colonel, major and deputy superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir police were martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Kokarnag area of Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. Commanding Officer Colonel Manpreet Singh had reached there to monitor it, but as soon as he got down from the vehicle, the terrorists opened fire on him, due to which he was seriously injured. The place where the terrorists carried out the incident was a dense forest. From where he could not be immediately taken to the hospital and due to profuse bleeding, he passed away.
