Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Anand Sharma resigned from the post of Chairman of Foreign Affairs Department of All India Congress Committee. However, he is still a member of the Congress Working Committee. Sharma said in his resignation addressed to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge that as I have earlier informed both the Congress Working Committee and the Congress Working Committee President, I think, to include the committee, to include the ability and talented young leaders. This will ensure continuity in its functioning.
