Amritsar rural police today encountered a suspect in the Kombo police station area. This is the Amritsar Police’s fifth encounter in seven days. This action has been taken in the case in which a shopkeeper was shot and killed in village Dhulka on November 16.
The police were continuously looking for the accused in this case. Yesterday also an accused was encountered in this case. In today’s encounter, the accused Sukhpreet Singh alias Sukh, who hails from Patiala, was caught roaming in the Kombo police station area.
The police tried to stop him by putting a barricade in the area but the accused started firing at the police. In retaliation, the police also fired, in which Sukhpreet was shot in the leg and was sent to the hospital for treatment.
According to the police, Sukhpreet had given weapons and shelter to the accused in the shopkeeper’s murder. Today he came to deliver weapons for another crime. The weapon recovered in this encounter was to be handed over by Sukhpreet for another crime. However, before this could happen, the police engaged the accused and recovered the weapon.

Speaking to the media, Amritsar DIG Sandeep Goyal said that no one will be spared who tries to endanger peace and law and order in rural Amritsar.
