Veteran actress Kamini Kaushal died on Friday at the age of 98. On Saturday, megastar Amitabh Bachchan wrote an emotional note on his blog, in which he recalled his family bond with Kamini and described her as a “pleasing, affectionate and talented artiste”.Amitabh Bachchan has remembered late actress Kamini Kaushal, calling her a “great artiste” and a “big personality” who made remarkable contributions to Hindi cinema.
Kamini KaushalStarted his career in 1946 with the film ‘Neecha Nagar’. She was one of the highest paid actresses in the film industry in the late 1940s and early 1950s. He also acted with the famous trio of Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand and Raj Kapoor. Later in the 1960s, she began playing character actress roles. He last acted in Aamir Khan’s film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ in 2022. At that time his age was 95 years.

His journey in films lasted for 76 years, which is an amazing achievement in itself. On Saturday, ‘Sholay’ actor Amitabh Bachchan paid an emotional tribute to ‘X’ by writing a long post on him. He wrote, “…another sad news… a dear family friend from the old days has left us… before the partition of the country… Kamini Kaushal ji – a great artiste, an icon, who made a huge contribution to our film industry and who remained with us till the end… her family and my mother’s family were very close friends in Punjab before Partition.”

He said, “Kamini ji’s elder sister was a very close friend of my mother… They both studied together and were happy, like-minded friends… Unfortunately, the elder sister died in an accident, and as per the tradition of that time, the late sister’s younger sister was married to her brother-in-law.”
Bachchan said, “A very friendly, affectionate and talented artiste has left us at the age of 98… …a whole era of memories has ended… not only for the film industry, but also for the world of our friendship. One by one everyone is leaving us… It is a moment of great sadness, in which only condolences and prayers are left now.”
She was also known for her powerful character roles in many of Manoj Kumar’s films such as Shaheed, Upkaar and Purab Aur Paschim.
