A senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah may visit Jammu and Kashmir on 29 and 30 May to review the security scenario and recently meet people affected by Pakistani shelling. However, this news has now been confirmed. Home Minister Amit Shah will reach Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow evening. During the proposed tour, they will review the security landscape after Operation Sindoor and visit the border areas such as Poonch and Nowshera to meet the affected people. They can also preside over the Integrated Command Meeting.

This operation is his first visit to the region since vermilion, which was run by the Indian Air Force on 22 April in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (PoK) to avenge the Pahalgam attack. 25 tourists and a local person were killed in this attack. The Home Minister visited Kashmir the same evening and visited Basaron the next day. According to reports, Shah is about to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and will visit the border district of Poonch, which is suffering the brunt of Pakistani shelling, killing 14 people and damage to the property.

The Home Minister will preside over a high -level meeting in Jammu on the evening of 29 May. The meeting will include Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha and army, paramilitary forces, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Civil Administration and Intelligence Agencies. The meeting will discuss security arrangements for the Amarnath Yatra to be held from July 3 to August 9. The security of Amarnath pilgrims will be increased this year in view of the Pahalgam attack. The meeting will also discuss infiltration, anti -terrorism campaign and security steps taken after the previous meeting.
