Ever since the teaser of Fawad Khan and Vani Kapoor starrer film Abir Gulal was released, its release has been protesting in India. But in the meantime, the film has started getting support from the Bollywood industry. Actress Amisha Patel said that there is no discrimination in art on the basis of India’s cultural nationality.
In a conversation with IANS, Amisha said, ‘I loved Fawad Khan before. We welcome every actor and every musician. This is the culture of India, so art is art. I do not discriminate in it. International artists should be welcome. Artists from all over the world are welcome.
At the same time, actor Imran Zahid, who has been seen in the film ‘Ab Delhi Do not’, has also supported this film. He says that it is very sad to see that the release of Fawad Khan and Vani Kapoor’s film Abir Gulal is being opposed in India. In today’s time, when digital media is promoting cultural exchange by crossing the boundaries, the release of the film is being banned only in theaters.
Imran said that the Bombay High Court had dismissed the petition demanding a ban on Pakistani artists. The court said that it is wrong to link patriotism with the instructions of a non-constitutional organization like AICWA or MNS. The court also admitted that India invites Pakistan to the 2023 SCO Film Festival and to allow its cricket team to attend the World Cup are steps towards peace under Article 51 of the Constitution.
Imran Zahid further said, “When I contacted the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Culture and Ministry of External Affairs through Right to Information to get clear information, I did not give any clear answer.” Instead, I was entangled in office action. No ministry told whether Pakistani actors have official permission to work in Indian film.
