3 Navy officers who cheated in the name of recruitment in the Agnivir scheme in Odisha have been arrested. Khurda police took this action on Thursday. An officer has retired.

They are alleged to have assured the candidates to help in recruitment and used to make money from them. Police said that Satyam Chahar posted on IANS Kesari, Vinay Kumar Ray posted on IANS Chilka and retired officer Bhushan have been arrested. Bhushan is a resident of Uttar Pradesh.

Training officer complained

Khurda SP Sagarika Nath said that IANS Chilka’s Training Officer Lieutenant Commander Unique Singh had complained about these people. It is alleged that these people were charging money from candidates in the name of Agniveer and general recruitment. These people also threatened the candidates.

He used to ask the candidates that he would help in medical examination, police verification and recruitment. He had formed many groups on WhatsApp and Telegram, through which he used to lure documentation. They have taken 30 thousand to one lakh rupees from candidates.

SP Nath said that the police team has seized documents of transactions of these people. 2 more people are being searched, who have been charged before such allegations. We are also investigating his role in previous complaints. We have seized 12 bank accounts.
