The Tata Group’s private aviation company Air India said on Sunday that it canceled its flight coming from Milan to Delhi on 16 August after finding out the maintenance problem at the last minute.
Air India said in a statement that alternative arrangements are being made to reach the passengers to their destination at the earliest. The statement said, “The proposed flight number AI 138 from Milan to Delhi on August 16 was canceled due to maintenance work revealed during ‘pushback’.”
‘Pushback’ means the process of pushing the aircraft backwards from parking space at the airport. This process allows employees on the ground to safely and efficiently remove the aircraft from the gate.
The statement said, “Our ‘Ground Team’ in Milan provided immediate assistance to all the affected passengers, held them in the hotel and allowed them to return the full fare or revive the journey on the cancellation of the ticket on the basis of the option they choose.
