AI has decided to increase the retirement age of pilots to 65 years and the retirement age of other employees to 60 years. Sources gave this information on Friday.
Currently, the retirement age for both pilots and other employees in the airline is 58 years. Sources said that the retirement age was announced by CEO and MD Campbell Wilson in Airline’s town hall.
The retirement age of Air India pilots will be increased to 65 years and the retirement age of other employees will be increased to 60 years. No official comments were made by Air India in this regard.
The Tata Group owned around 24,000 employees in Air India, including about 3,600 pilots and about 9,500 cabin crew members. It was not immediately found out whether the retirement age of the cabin crew, which is currently 58 years in AI India, has been increased.
