After returning from China, the President of the Maldives, Mohammed Muizu, is showing a tough attitude. Muizu has asked India to withdraw its troops stationed in the Maldives by March 15. Almost two months ago after becoming the president, Muizu had announced the withdrawal of other countries' troops stationed in the Maldives. He also gave a slogan like India Out in his election campaign.

A senior Maldivian government official said President Muizu has traditionally asked India to withdraw its troops by March 15. According to official data, there are 88 Indian military personnel in Maldives.

According to the report, Maldives and India have formed a high-level core committee to discuss the return of troops. Indian High Commissioner Munu Mahawar was also present in the meeting. He said that the agenda of the meeting was about recalling the soldiers by March 15.

Muizu, traditionally considered a pro-China leader, made the call for India to withdraw its troops soon after taking office as Maldives president on November 17. According to Muizu, the Maldivian public has given them a 'strong mandate' to send back the troops. Muizu said that he will not allow any foreign country to influence the domestic affairs of Maldives.

Let us tell you that there is a fear of increasing tension between the two countries due to Muizu's closeness with China and its attitude towards India. Recently, three ministers in his government made wrong comments against PM Modi.
