Leaders of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom and the US Group (G7) will meet in Kananaskis for three days as part of the 51st G7 Summit. This is the seventh time when the Canada is hosting the G7 Summit and has invited the heads of non-G7 countries including Prime Minister Narendra Modi as guests. No joint statement or release will be issued at the end of the meeting this year. US President Donald Trump will also visit Kananaskis for the summit. His presence at the summit would be interesting as he was out of G7 in 2018. Trump’s National Security Advisor, John Bolton, at that time posted that Trump made it clear that America would not be his bank. Just another G7 where other countries hope that America will always be their bank. The President made this clear today. No more.

Bilateral meeting between India and America is not yet decided
It is not yet clear whether there will be a bilateral meeting between PM Modi and US President Donald Tamp in Canada during the G-7. There is also a diplomatic confusion about tariffs in bilateral relations between India and America. In such a situation, the meeting between the two leaders in any soil will prove to be important in the direction of improving the relationship.
