After applying for membership of BRICS, Palestine said- India’s doors are open for us 24 hours.

Under an important international developments, Palestine has submitted an application for membership in the BRICS group. This step has come to light when many countries are continuously recognizing Palestine as an independent nation. Palestine’s Ambassador to Russia Abdel Hafiz Nofal has confirmed that the application has been filed and now the answer is waiting. He says that as long as the circumstances are not favorable, Palestine can participate as a guest member.

Let us tell you that BRICS, which started with membership of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, has expanded rapidly in recent years. Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and United Arab Emirates joined the platform in 2024, while Indonesia became part of it in 2025. Welcoming this expansion, China indicated that “similar -ideology partners” are suitable for BRICS. Beijing has a clear message that this organization has become a platform to give strong voice to the countries of Global South and to establish a multi -polar world system.

If seen, the time of this initiative of Palestine is very important. On the one hand, the situation of western countries has been in Israel-supportive for years, while countries like Canada, Australia, Portugal and Britain have given formal recognition to Palestine in recent weeks. This is an indication that the Western political scenario is also changing. If Palestine connects with BRICS, it will not only be symbolic but will also strengthen its diplomatic position.

Let us tell you that India has historically supported the self -determination of Palestine and the aspiration of the independent nation. From Mahatma Gandhi to Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, the sympathy and support towards Palestine was clear. India has also voted in favor of Palestine in the United Nations and contributed to its developmental assistance. However, in the last two decades, there has been a significant proximity in India-Israel relations. Cooperation in areas like defense, technology and agriculture has given a new direction. Despite this, India has maintained a balanced approach – strategic partnership with Israel on the one hand, the recognition and assistance of the nation of Palestine on the other hand.

Let us tell you that the purpose of BRICs is to improve global financial and political institutions and give strong voice to developing countries. If Palestine becomes a part of this organization, then India will have a challenge to balance. On the one hand, India will have to support the aspirations and historical trend of Global South, on the other hand, its close relationship with Israel will also have to be taken into account. There is also an opportunity for India that it emerges as a mediator promoting peace and stability in the Middle East. India can prove that it is capable of balance between the West and East under its policy of “strategic autonomy”.

If seen, the application of Palestine in BRICS is not just a diplomatic formality, but a sign of a new global equation. BRICS is no longer a platform for economic cooperation, but it has become a symbol of power balance in world politics. It is time for India to strengthen his resolve of peace, justice and multi -polar world system, supporting Palestine’s aspirations.

Let us also tell you that relations between India and Palestine have historically been emotionally and diplomatic. The Palestinian ambassador’s statement in India has once again clarified that the relations between New Delhi and Ramallah are standing on the strong foundations of trust and cooperation. The Palestinian ambassador has said that India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is doing concrete and important work for the Palestinian people. He has said that India is working in several development projects in Palestine, including a million dollar hospital. Apart from this, India also supports UN agency UNRWA, which takes care of Palestinian refugees.

Expressing deep satisfaction with India, the Palestinian Ambassador said that if ever a discussion is required, the Indian Foreign Ministry is “open 24 hours”. This statement is not only a diplomatic formality, but a testimony to deep trust and cooperation. When asked what the impact of the growing relations with other countries of India, especially Israel, said clearly – “We see India on a large scale.” India’s activism in the projects being implemented on the United Nations, Security Council, General Assembly, Human Rights Council and land is the real measure of India-Felistine relations.

It is clear from this statement that Palestine does not accept any deviation in India’s policy. The ambassador admitted that India can maintain its bilateral relations with any country and Palestine does not interfere with it. Let us tell you that India has always supported Palestine’s self -determination and the right to nation building. The words of the Palestinian ambassador reflect the success of this policy. On the one hand, India has given economic and humanitarian aid to Palestine, on the other hand, it has also taken care of its strategic interests in West Asia.

However, this statement of the Palestinian ambassador further strengthens India’s diplomatic credibility. This indicates that New Delhi is considered a reliable partner in the Middle East. The opportunity for India is to play a central role not only through development projects but also in the process of peace and communication. The Indo-Felistine relationship is an example of the balance and transparency in global politics.
