The Indian stock market opened sluggish on Thursday, the fourth trading day of the week. The Sensex fell below 55,900 points in early trade.

Top losers in the BSE index include Airtel, Powergrid, Maruti, Axis Bank, SBI, Titan, HDFC Bank, Nestle, NTPC, Sun Pharma, ITC, Infosys and TCS. Reliance Industries is one of the fastest growing stocks. Shares of Asian Paint, Bajaj Finserv, HCL, Bajaj Auto, HUL, IndusInd Bank also rose.
