Veteran Tamil actor Rajesh died on Thursday (May 29) due to health complications. He was 75 years old. According to reports, the actor had complained of low blood pressure and shortness of breath and was taken to a hospital in Chennai. His family allegedly confirmed that he died on the way to the hospital. The body of the actor is being taken to his residence in Rampuram, Chennai. His daughter will be cremated after his daughter returns from America. Rajesh is survived by his son and daughter. His wife Joan Sylvia Vanthirire died in 2012.
Late actor Rajesh was a staunch supporter of DMK. He was a great fan of Karunanidhi and Stalin. Rajesh hung a picture of Chief Minister Stalin on the wall of his house hall. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President Stalin expressed condolences on his death.
Superstar Rajinikanth mourned the death of his ‘close friend’ Rajesh (which was previously known as Twitter). In an emotional note he wrote, “My close friend, actor Rajesh’s sudden death is a shock for me. It’s very sad. He was a great person – his soul should be peaceful. My deep condolences to his family and friends.”
Actor Rajesh was acting in Tamil cinema for nearly 50 years. More than 150 films and many small screen serials have been released in his acting career. Rajesh has left his mark everywhere as an actor, dubbing artist, writer and small screen actor.
He made his debut in cinema from the film Aval Oru Sathkatha and made his debut as a hero with the film ‘Kannip Paruvathile’. He also played an important role in actor Vijay Sethupati’s film Dharmadeurai. Rajesh also acted in recently released films. Rajesh has left his mark in the roles played so far through his acting.
Karunanidhi Stalin’s Murid
Actor Rajesh is a member of DMK. Karunanidhi is a very big fan of Stalin. Karunanidhi personally participated in several programs including her marriage at Rajesh’s house and congratulated her. Actor Rajesh put a picture of Chief Minister Stalin in his house hall.
After the DMK came to power under the leadership of Chief Minister Stalin, a new position was created as the head of the Tamil Nadu government’s MGR Film and Television Training Institute and film actor Rajesh was appointed. Rajesh worked as the head of MGR Film Institute for 2 years.
Earlier, while speaking on the stage, Rajesh had said, “Anna, Karunanidhi and MGR became famous through cinema. DMK leader Karunanidhi excelled in all areas in which he became famous. Karunanidhi is an incomparable leader who assimilated and acted.”
Stalin’s condolence message in this context issued a condolence message on Rajesh’s death, saying, “I am deeply saddened to hear the news of the death of veteran actor of Tamil film industry Rajesh. Rajesh acted in about 150 films and TV serials for more than 40 years and made his mark as a playback singer. Muthmizharigna’s mind was very honored and loved for the artist.
Leaders Kalaganam and Rajesh used to attend their homes such as their wedding and congratulated them. At this time, I remember that when the artist died, Rajesh was the one who expressed his condolences and said, “He was part of every family in Tamil Nadu.”
