Accountability fixed in PDS: Chief Secretary’s instructions, left beneficiaries get immediate ration card

A review meeting was held with all the Divisional Commissioners of the state through video conferencing under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Shri Pratya Amrit. Mr. Pankaj Kumar, Principal Secretary, Department of Food and Consumer Protection, was present in this review meeting. Today’s review meeting reviewed the construction of new ration cards in the state, vacancies of public distribution system shops, ration card tagging, “Zero Office Day” campaign in the light of the irregularities found under the “Zero Office Day” campaign.

In the review meeting, the Chief Secretary directed all the Divisional Commissioners to ensure the desired beneficiaries to be made ration cards in the camp mode. The vacancies of public distribution system shops should be filled as soon as possible. Under the “Zero Office Day” campaign, be sure to take action as per rules on the basis of inspection report so that all eligible beneficiaries can ensure timely availability of quality food grains in the prescribed quantity.
The Food and Consumer Protection Department conducted a inspection campaign through the “Zero Office Day” campaign through the “Zero Office Day” campaign in the entire state through “PDS Parakh Mobile App” from 29-08-2025 under the “Zero Office Day” campaign across the state. The objective of this state -wide inspection campaign was to make the food distribution system more transparent, effective and beneficial in the state. Along with ensuring accountability and discipline in the public distribution system, all eligible beneficiaries had to ensure availability of quality food grains in the prescribed quantity at the right time.
So far 152 FIRs have been lodged on the basis of the inspection report of this statewide statewide. Along with this, the license of a total of 209 public distribution shops has also been canceled. Public distribution system shops have been asked for not distributing food grains among the beneficiaries for the current month, distribution of less than the prescribed quantity to the beneficiaries, distributing low quality food grains to the beneficiaries and a total of 27 supply inspectors/ block supply officers and 07 Assistant District Supply Officers have been asked in the light of a total case related to complaints related to complaints related to submergence. Apart from this, 07 supply inspectors/ block supply officials have been given suspension after departmental review on the basis of investigation report. Along with this, action has been taken for the supply of poor quality food grains to 6 assistant managers and 6 quality controllers of the State Food Corporation.

In today’s review meeting, Secretary, Department of Food and Consumer Protection, Mo. Nayyar Iqbal, Special Secretary Mr. Upendra Kumar, Joint Secretary Mr. Ravindra Kumar, Special Affairs Officer Mr. Vinod Kumar Tiwari and Special Affairs Officer Ms. Srishti Priya were present.
