The RSS -affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) described the program as a dramatic stunt and accused Gandhi of underestimating the elected student representatives. According to Rajni Abbi, a proctor at Delhi University, Gandhi reached the DUSU office without informing the university administration and stayed there for about an hour.

He said, “It was a dramatic photo-up,” he accused the Congress leader of treating the student union office as if “a rejected actor student was hindering the play.” ABVP, who held several positions in DUSU, also strongly criticized Gandhi’s visit and described it as an attempt to hijack the student forums for political gains.
