About 200 immigrant arrests in southern California: Officer

The US federal immigration officials have arrested about 200 people by raiding two cannabis fields in California, who are suspected of living illegally in the country. Federal immigration officials gave this information. The raid was conducted on Thursday.

People present at the scene opposed the raids, due to which the situation became tense for some time. The Ministry of Internal Safety said in a statement that the authorities on Thursday served a criminal search warrant in Carpinteria and California, California and arrested some immigrants on suspicion of living illegally in the country.

The statement said that at least 10 children were also present at the scene. The ministry said that four American citizens have been arrested for attacking or opposing the authorities.

During the raid, a crowd of people outside the ‘Glass House Forms’ in Camarilo gathered to get information about their relatives and protest against immigration enforcement. California’s licensed cannabis company, Glass House, said in a statement that immigration agents had valid warrants.

The company said that employees have been detained and are helping them to provide legal representation. Tomatoes and cucumbers are also grown in this form. The statement said, “Glass house has never intentionally violated the appointment practices nor has ever hired minors.”
