Abhishek Bachchan condoles the demise of ‘makeup artist’, calls him a family member

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan on Monday expressed deep condolences on the demise of his makeup artist Ashok Sawant on ‘Instagram’. Abhishek shared two pictures taken with Ashok, one of which is from the sets of their recent film Kalidhar Lapata and the other is an old picture taken on the sets of the 2012 film “Bol Bachchan”. Abhishek wrote, “Ashok Dada and I have been working together for 27 years. He has been doing my makeup since my first film. He was not only a part of my team but also a part of the family.”

He said, “Last night we lost him forever. He was the first person whose feet I touched and sought his blessings before giving the first shot of the new film. Now I have to look up to the sky and feel that you are blessing me from there.”

Abhishek said that Ashok’s elder brother Deepak has been his father Amitabh Bachchan’s makeup man for almost 50 years. He said, “For the last few years, he (Ashok) was ill, so he was not always able to come to the set. But whenever I was shooting, he used to come to me and ensure that his assistant did my makeup properly.
