Mumbai : Renowned evergreen singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has given us some golden songs from the 90s which the audience cherishes and enjoys even decades later. Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s recreation of the iconic song ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ for the film ‘Selfie’ has created a huge buzz while bringing back nostalgia from the 90s. This is the first time a Dharma production has used Abhijeet’s voice which created a storm in the 90s on par with the original song.

Abhijeet Bhattacharya is the reason and voice behind Akshay Kumar’s most superhit songs of the 90s and many chartbusters in films such as all the ‘Khiladi’ franchise films including Sabse Bada Khiladi, Khiladi, Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Khiladi Ke Khiladi, Mr. End Are included. SMT Khiladi, Khiladi 420 and many more. He has sung more than 6035 songs in more than 1000 films and is still rocking with the remake of Main Khiladi Tu Anari. The original people behind the song have created the new version which is Abhijit Bhattacharya along with Udit Narayan and the music is given by none other than Anu Malik. The remix seeks to entice the palette of the quintessential club hopper and add zing elements in equal measure. While Akshay is in the new version this time too, Saif Ali Khan has been replaced by Emraan Hashmi, with Nushrat Bharucha and Diana Penty effortlessly fitting the bill with equal gusto. It’s a fun tribute to the 90s and the recreated version harnesses the energy of the camera throughout.

When asked about the reprized version of his iconic song, Abhijeet Bhattacharya says, “I have sung this song in the original and now the remake version gives me equal joy and definitely reminds me of those times When I first sang it for the original song. It became hugely popular back then and seeing the remake version on today’s audience, to be honest, my heart melts. From Salman Khan to Tiger Shroff, Ganesh Acharya, Ram Charan, colleagues to the audience, everyone is showing immense love to my song and to be honest, the whole experience feels surreal.

I have given all the superhit songs for Akshay, but this is the first time in my entire career my voice has been used in Dharma films. I hope people keep showering love on my voice and shaking legs for the next three decades.

‘Selfie’ is the official Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Driving License, which starred Prithviraj and Suraj Venjaramoodu in lead roles. The film is directed by Raj Mehta and is slated to release in theaters on February 24.
