South African veteran AB de Villiers has indicated to return to RCB before IPL 2026. AB has expressed a desire to play the role of RCB coach or mentor in future.
De Villiers spent the most time in his IPL career in RCB. The wicketkeeper batsman started his IPL career in 2008 with Delhi Daredevils. He joined RCB in 2011 after spending three seasons with Delhi.
At the same time, de Villiers, who said goodbye to international cricket in 2021, said that it is difficult to give full time in the IPL. However, their relationship with RCB is strong. If the Bengaluru franchise feels that he has a role to join the team, he is ready to adopt it.
De Villiers said in a conversation with IANS that, I can re -join IPL in a different role in future. But it is difficult to join for a complete time in a professional manner. According to me, those days have been lasted. They say that you never say. My heart is with RCB and will always be. If the franchise felt that I have a role as a coach or mentor, when my time is right, I will definitely join RCB.
