After the defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) made major changes in the party. Former minister Saurabh Bhardwaj has been made the new state president of Delhi.
On Friday, a meeting of the party’s political affairs committee PAC was held at the house of AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, in which this decision was taken.
Saurabh Bhardwaj will replace former minister Gopal Rai. In the meeting, the state president of two states including Delhi and the new in -charge of 4 states were appointed. Maharaj Malik will be the new state president of Jammu and Kashmir.
The party has appointed Gopal Rai in charge of Gujarat. Durgesh Pathak will be co -in -charge. Manish Sisodia has been appointed in charge of Punjab. Satyendra Jain has been made co -incharge.
Sandeep Pathak in charge of Chhattisgarh has been made. Pankaj Gupta will be in charge of Goa.

Saurabh Bhardwaj is a three -time MLA
Saurabh Bhardwaj joined AAP in 2013. He has been a three -time MLA from Greater Kailash assembly seat. He has held the responsibility of more than 7 ministries including the Ministry of Health in the AAP government.
He suffered defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections in February 2025. BJP’s Shikha Roy defeated him by more than 3 thousand votes.

AAP lost in Delhi assembly elections
The result of Delhi Assembly Elections was declared on 8 February 2025. The BJP had shown the way out of the AAP, which has been in power in Delhi since 3 times. Out of 70 seats in Delhi, BJP won 48. AAP’s parts came only 22 seats.
Three -time CM of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal contested from New Delhi seat, but had to face defeat. BJP’s Pravesh Verma defeated him by 4089 votes. Congress candidate Sandeep Dixit got a total of 4568 votes.
In the election, BJP+ got 3.6% more votes than AAP. It got 26 seats more than this. There were 8 seats in the last election. In 1993, the BJP won 49 seats i.e. two -thirds majority. Madan Lal Khurana, Sahib Singh Verma and Sushma Swaraj were made CMs in the 5 -year government.
After 1998, the Congress ruled 15 years. This was followed by the Aam Aadmi Party government since 2013. This time the BJP increased by 40 seats with a 71% strike rate. The party contested 68, won 48 seats. At the same time, AAP lost 40 seats. Your strike rate was 31%.
