Aam Aadmi Party accused leader, who has been arrested by the police
The Ludhiana police have arrested Meva Singh, the head of the Aam Aadmi Party’s Dalit Wing Assembly Halka Raikot. Meva Singh was accused of sexually assaulting a female employee and assault with her mother. The police arrested him from his house in Halwara.

According to police station correction in -charge Jaswinder Singh, a case was registered on 13 May on the complaint of the victim. Since then the accused was absconding. The victim said that she used to work in Shivam Photography Studio of Meva Singh since 2021. At the time of the job, a monthly salary of Rs 10,000 was promised, but he was given only 5000 rupees.

According to the victim, Meva Singh sexually assaulted her several times. Threatened to kill him on protesting. The victim quit the job on 6 November 2024. On asking for the outstanding salary, Meva Singh also assaulted his mother and pushed them out of the restaurant. Mother-daughter was admitted to Raikot’s Civil Hospital.
On May 11, Meva Singh called the victim to take the outstanding salary at his M-10 restaurant located near Rajoana village Chowk on Ludhiana Bathinda Raj Marg. The victim reached Meva Singh’s restaurant with her mother. Meva Singh along with his wife Gurpreet Kaur along with the other two female employees, beat and hit her outside the restaurant with a mother-daughter.

On the other hand, the victim and her mother have also accused the police of bias by registering a case against Meva Singh on behalf of the reform police. Station in -charge Jaswinder Singh and investigating officer Manohar Lal said that the case is being registered and investigation is being done, if the role of someone else comes to the fore, then the others will also be named and action will be taken against them.
