A woman preparing for UPSC exam shot and killed; Mother and brother arrested

The 24 -year -old girl preparing for the Civil Services Examination in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh was allegedly shot dead by her mother and Divyang Bhai. Police suspect that it may be a case of murder for false pride. The officials gave this information on Thursday.

Police said both the accused have been arrested. According to officials, both the accused tried to make the murder a form of suicide. He said that forensic investigation revealed that the bullet was killed from the left side of the girl from the left, while the pistol was found in her right hand which suspected the police.

Manvi Mishra was found dead in her maternal home in Aliapur village of Pali police station area on Sunday morning. Shahabad jurisdictional Alok Raj Narayan said that the family initially claimed that he had committed suicide, but investigation revealed that Manvi allegedly married against the family’s wishes, due to which he was murdered.

According to the police, Manvi married Abhinav Katiyar, Principal of a government school in Bareilly in January 2025, according to the customs of Arya Samaj and in the court.

She was living in her maternal home while preparing for UPSC Civil Services Examination. Police said that during interrogation, his brother Ashutosh Mishra confessed to killing and killing him with a desi pistol. Her mother has also been arrested for involvement in the conspiracy of crime.
