Chief Justice BR Gavai told senior advocate Kapil Sibal that I would have to constitute a back. Sibal mentioned the case on behalf of Verma. The Chief Justice was presiding over the bench which also included Vinod Chandran of Justice and Justice Joymalya Bagchi.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday said that it would set up a special bench to hear the petition of Justice Yashwant Verma in which he has demanded an internal inquiry committee report to be invalid, which found him guilty of misconduct in the cash recovery case. Chief Justice BR Gavai told senior advocate Kapil Sibal that I would have to constitute a back. Sibal mentioned the case on behalf of Verma. The Chief Justice was presiding over the bench which also included Vinod Chandran of Justice and Justice Joymalya Bagchi.

Verma has also demanded the cancellation of the recommendation made by the then Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna on 8 May, requesting Parliament to conduct impeachment against him. A panel of three judges headed by Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Sheel Nagu investigated for 10 days, questioned 55 witnesses and visited the spot, which was caused by a accidental fire at Justice Verma’s official residence at around 11.35 pm on March 14. Justice Verma was the judge of the Delhi High Court at that time and is now a judge in the Allahabad High Court.
