A procession of 1,796 Sikhs will go to Pakistan on the birth anniversary of Baba Nanak, got visas

Good news for Sikh devotees. Pilgrims have got visas to go to Pakistan to participate in the religious events to be held at Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib on the occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Gurpurab. A procession of Sikh pilgrims from the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) will leave for Pakistan on November 4.

SGPC Secretary Pratap Singh said that every year on the occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Purab, a group of Shiromani Committee devotees are sent to visit the historical Gurdwaras of Pakistan. This year, passports of 1,802 pilgrims were sent to the Pakistan Embassy for visa processing, of which 1,796 have received visas.

Pratap Singh thanked the Governments of India and Pakistan for issuing visas to devotees on the occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Purab. Those who have got a visa can get their passports from the Shiromani Committee office on October 31 and November 1.

As per the fixed program, this jatha will leave for Pakistan’s Sri Nankana Sahib via Wagah border on November 4. After participating in the main celebrations related to the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the Jatha will visit various holy places and return to India on November 13.
