After a widespread change in the language dispute after the comment of Tamil Megastar Kamal Haasan, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today said that he did not know anything about the history of Kannada. His response came in Tamil Nadu after the statement of Hassan, head of a new political party, stating that Kannada has “born” from Tamil language itself. Siddaramaiah retaliated at the founder of Makkal Nidhi Mayam, saying, “The history of Kannada is very old. Poor Kamal Haasan is not aware of it.” Hassan has not yet proved his political potential despite fighting several elections since 2019.
Kannada actor Shiv Rajkumar defended Kamal Haasan amidst Kannada language dispute. The popular Kannada actor described himself as a fan of Haasan at a public event in Bangalore and said that he is a big inspiration for the actor. Shiva told those who criticized Haasan and those demanding their boycott that they should understand that their work speaks more than words. He asked him whether he had done anything for the Kannada film industry or provided new opportunities to young actors. He said, “Kamal sir has always praised Kannada and has praised Bengaluru a lot. He proudly talks about our city. We have grown up seeing him and I have been a big fan of Kamal Sir for years.”
The Kannada pro -Kannada group named Karnataka Rakshan Vedike (KRV) has filed a complaint against veteran actor Kamal Haasan for his controversial ‘Kannada Tamil’ comment ‘in Bengaluru. Those who do not know, tell them that during the promotion of his upcoming film Thug Life, the actor had raised controversy by saying at an event in Chennai that Kannada is ‘born’ from Tamil language. The people of Karnataka did not like this, who threatened to blacken the actor’s face and boycott them in his kingdom. After protesting against his statement and apologizing, legal action has also been taken against Kamal.
According to a report by India Today, KRV President Praveen Shetty in the complaint described the actor’s statement as ‘illegal’ and said that it is against harmony between the two states. The complaint was lodged at RM Nagar Police Station in Bengaluru on Wednesday (May 28).
Kamal Haasan refused to apologize
Meanwhile, the actor broke his silence on the controversy and recently while talking to media persons, saying that his comment was “misunderstood” and he said this “lovingly”. He also said that he would not apologize for his statement. He said, “I will not apologize for what I have said with love,” he said that many historians have taught him the history of language. According to PTI, the 70 -year -old actor said, “Politicians are not eligible to talk on language issues, and I am also involved in it.” During the interaction with the media, he also said that Tamil Nadu has always been an inclusive kingdom. “It is a very rare state where a Menon has been the Chief Minister, a Reddy has been CM, and even a Kannadiga has worked as CM.” After saying this, he explained how Karnataka and Kannada people helped him at the time of his need. He said, “When I was facing problems in Chennai, Karnataka supported me.”
