A Mumbai businessman received a threatening call claiming to be from the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The caller told the businessman that for his murder, 25 lakh rupees in cash and one kg of gold have been given betel nut. The caller demanded a ransom of even more money from the businessman to save his life. Fearful of threatening, the businessman lodged a complaint at Goregaon police station. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case and investigation has been started.

Accused demands ransom
According to the complaint of the businessman, the caller said that I am associated with the Bishnoi gang. We know that you live in Juhu, your office is in Goregaon and your factory is in Vasai. You have been given betel nut to eliminate 25 lakh rupees and 1 kg of gold. When the businessman asked what the mistake he had made, the caller replied, “We have received a message from above. We know that you have two daughters, and one of them has just reached Goregaon. Your factory in Goregaon, your factory in Vasai and your house in Juhu have already been sent to your house in Juhu. The businessman offered to deliver the money to the Goregaon police station, on which the phoneman suddenly disconnected the phone and shared all the information about the call.

Police started investigation
After the report, DCP Sandeep Jadhav of Goregaon Police and Senior Police Inspector Suryakant Kharat began to detect the number and started a detailed investigation. The police were surprised to know that there was no one to threaten, but the businessman’s own employee, who was identified as 26 -year -old Tejas Selller. Tejas allegedly lost Rs 3 lakh in online gaming and needed money to repay the loan taken.
