The frenzy of speeding continues. Such fury broke out on truck driver Chamandeep Singh, a resident of Bazigar Basti Tapa Mandi, when he was going to Rampura from Tapa on his motorcycle. When he reached the village of Jethuke, an unknown vehicle hit his motorcycle at a high speed. The collision was so violent that the motorcycle fell far and the motorcycle rider Chamandeep Singh died on the spot. Meanwhile, the vehicle driver managed to escape from the spot.
The accident took place on the Bathinda Chandigarh National Highway. The police are examining the CCTV cameras regarding this road accident. It is also being told that there is a police hi-tech checkpoint nearby, from where these vehicles passed.
The deceased has been identified as 49-year-old Chamandeep Singh, a resident of Bajigar Basti. He had a son and a daughter. His wife is suffering from cancer for which he used to work hard by driving day and night.
Five months ago, he married his daughter and was making his only son study for B.Tech. After the death of the deceased, Chamandeep’s wife Sukhwinder Kaur and family members have demanded legal action against the accused vehicle driver. A case has been registered in the Gill Kalan police station regarding this matter.
