A major storm in Punjab killed a grocer by killing him in broad daylight.

A major incident has come to light in Tarn Taran, a grocery trader was shot dead in broad daylight. Two unidentified bike-borne assailants shot him directly in the chest, killing him on the spot. Police say that at that time the entire family had gone to attend a wedding in Amritsar. Her son was present with her in the shop.

The attackers reached the shop around noon with the intention of robbing him. Although the businessman gave the money from the cash box, but after an argument, one of the assailants opened fire on him, firing three bullets one after the other.

The case is in Bhullar village of Khadur Sahib Vidhan Sabha constituency, where two bike-borne assailants shot businessman Daljit Singh (47) at his grocery shop. He died on the spot. The incident took place on Monday afternoon. At the time of the incident, his son (18) was also present at the shop with him. Other family members had gone to Amritsar to attend a wedding.

The assailants fled from the spot after shooting him. Neighbors rushed him to a private hospital in Tarn Taran, where doctors declared him brought dead. The police of Sadar Police Station took possession of the dead body and admitted it to the Civil Hospital.

Daljit Singh’s father was the Sarpanch of village Bhullar. The deceased is survived by a son and a wife. The son was preparing to go abroad next month and had already got the visa. The family told the police that they never received any threats or ransom calls.

DSP Tarn Taran Sukhbir Singh said that Daljit Singh was present at his shop when two unidentified men on a motorcycle shot him. He died inside the shop due to bullet injuries. The police are checking the CCTV cameras and the culprits will be arrested soon.
