A sudden fire broke out in a ready-made bags shop located at Ghumar Mandi Chowk in Ludhiana at 9 pm. There was no loss of life in the accident, but all the goods in the showroom were burnt to ashes. Due to the sudden fire, there was chaos in the whole market. Fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and the fire was brought under control.
Shop owner Vijay Kumar said that at present the work of installing new electric wires is going on in the market, due to which the electricity is often off throughout the day. In the afternoon, the lights and wires of the shops were switched off. When the employees were closing the showroom in the evening, a short circuit suddenly occurred, which started the fire. Within minutes the entire showroom was engulfed in flames.

The fire brigade was informed about the incident. Rajinder Kumar, an employee of the fire department, said that he received a call at 9:03 pm. The team initially reached the spot with two vehicles, but two more vehicles had to be called as the fire spread too much. After about 30 minutes of efforts, the fire was completely brought under control. The fire department has stated the cause of the fire as short circuit. The shop has suffered a lot of damage. The police have started an investigation.
