The news of an encounter between police and miscreants has come to light in Ludhiana. The encounter took place near Ladowal Toll Plaza on the National Highway.
According to preliminary information, the police had already caught the miscreants from Haryana and Bihar with hand grenades a day earlier. They were identified during the interrogation, after which the police laid a trap to catch them. However, when the police surrounded them, they opened fire. After this, the police also retaliated. In this, two terrorists were injured by police bullets.
The condition of one of them is critical. He has been admitted to the hospital. ADCP Sameer Verma has also reached the hospital. Police have recovered two hand grenades, four pistols and more than 50 cartridges from the spot.
Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma left for the incident site as soon as he got the information. He has also ordered senior officials to reach the spot.
