Actress Shriya Saran has alerted her followers about a person contacting people using their name and picture on WhatsApp. The actress made a public appeal via Instagram, sharing screenshots and urging the fraudster not to do the same. He said that this fraudster was not only contacting strangers but was also contacting people of whom he is a fan, which has increased the concern.Addressing her followers on Instagram, Shriya wrote, “Please stop writing letters to people and wasting time.” He also posted a screenshot of the fake number and warned his followers to be alert.
Three days ago, actress Aditi Rao Hydari had mentioned an incident in which a person was contacting photographers for work using her name on WhatsApp. He clarified that people should not fall into the trap of someone hiding behind their identity. He also shared the number which was being used to commit fraud in his name.Now, actress Shriya Saran has also faced the same problem.

A few days ago, similar incidents happened with other actresses including several Telugu actresses. People and fans of the respective stars should remain alert and avoid falling prey to these fraudsters.
His post sparked concern among fans, with many expressing support and disappointment. One comment read, “Shriya ma’am, it’s really sad that you have to deal with this stressful situation. It must be so disappointing to see someone misuse your name and harass people like this. You handled it with such grace, and your real fans understand your feelings completely—no fake person can even come close to the warmth, dignity and lovely smile you are known for. More power to you, ma’am.”

Other followers advised Saran to ignore the scammer or report the matter to the authorities. One user suggested, “Why are you paying attention to this? Just avoid it,” while another advised, “Madam please share this number with cyber crime or file a complaint and they will take care of it.”
