The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has prepared a new action plan to monitor the repair and upgrade work of 19,000 km of link roads. For this purpose, flying squad teams based on Punjab Mandi Board and Public Works Department officials have been formed to monitor the entire project. Both the departments have been instructed to comply with the above orders.
The government order clearly states that Chief Minister Flying Squad teams have been constituted to inspect and monitor the roads being upgraded from 2022-23 to 2025-26. The objective is to ensure that the quality of work is not compromised.
Teams of Mandi Board officials
The first team consists of Punjab Mandi Board officials. In this, Davinder Singh, Superintending Engineer, Mandi Board, Jalandhar has been assigned Malwa region. He will be responsible for Sangrur, Malerkotla, Barnala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Faridkot, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Ludhiana, Mansa, Moga, Mohali, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Patiala and Rupnagar.
The second team, which will be led by Punjab Mandi Board Supervising Engineer Baldev Singh. It will monitor Majha and Doaba areas. They will cover Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar areas.

Teams of Public Works Department officials
The first team- under the leadership of Manpreet Singh, Supervising Engineer, Construction Circle, Patiala will take charge of Malerkotla, Barnala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Faridkot, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Ludhiana, Mansa, Moga, Mohali, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Patiala and Rupnagar.
Second team- Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar will be under Area Supervising Engineer Construction Circle Hoshiarpur.
