The CJI emphasized that it is not effective to keep distance from people in the judiciary. He rejected the notion that the judges of the Supreme Court should avoid joining the people.

The father had said- if you become a judge, you will be able to carry forward the attitude of Baba Saheb

Assuming his father’s advice, CJI Gawai expressed satisfaction over his 22 -year tenure as High Court Judge and a six -year tenure as Supreme Court Judge. He said that during this time he has always tried to give his best to the judicial system.
