Violation of the Yellow line on the eight major roads declared to improve the traffic system of Ludhiana will now be expensive. The police have declared these roads as ‘No-Tollence Zone’ and ordered strict action to erect any kind of goods or vehicles outside the Yellow line here. The traffic police on Friday made invoices of vehicles parked outside the Yellow line on Chandigarh Road and made the shopkeepers aware of this.
No-Tollence Zone has been declared at these 8 places in the city, Dandi Swami Chowk to Habowal Chowk, Self Park on Dugri Road, Libra Cut on Dugri Road, on both sides of Indoor Stadium on Pakhowal Road, from Government High School to Mundian Cut on Chandigarh Road, Bhamian Road to Bhamian Road to Bheye Vihar to Bhamian Colony Cut, Basti Jawal Chowk to Basti Johiwal Chowk to Khel Chowk to Jagraon Bridge to Civil Hospital in Ganj.
On the instructions of Police Commissioner Swapn Sharma, the traffic police is constantly inspecting these areas. CP has given clear instructions that no shopkeeper or street vendor will put goods outside the Yellow line. First notice will be given, yet legal action will be taken if the rules are broken. On Friday, the police conducted challans on the violation of the Yellow line on Chandigarh Road.
The traffic police also explained the importance of the Yellow line to the shopkeepers along with the challan. Police say that if the Yellow line is followed, then the problem of traffic jam can provide relief to a great extent.
