The Indore bench of MP High Court has currently banned the result of NEET UG 2025 exam. The court said that the result should not be released until the final decision is taken.

On Thursday 15 May, the High Court had asked the National Testing Agency (NTA) to conduct NEET UG, what steps it was taking in the matter but no satisfactory response was received from NTA. The High Court has issued notices to NTA, power company and examination centers. Everyone will have to present the answer by 30 June.

After the exam, a total of 17 petitions were filed in the High Court since May 5, which was heard by the court simultaneously. The first hearing of the case was held on 13 May.

Actually, electricity went to many centers in Indore on the day of exam, due to which many candidates could not even read questions. In this case, 17 candidates had filed a petition in the Indore bench of the MP High Court, which was later clubbing in a petition.

If there is no backup arrangement, then the candle lit

Candidates, who filed the petition, said that their exam center was PM Sri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, where on May 4, he had come to give exams in the shift of 2 pm to 5 pm. Meanwhile, due to heavy rains and thunderstorms, electricity went away at around 3:30 pm. There was no backup at the center and the room got dark. Candidates had to give exams in this situation. Candles were lit at the center at around 4:30 pm.

The petition has demanded that either the re-exam of the affected candidates or the court suggests a other remedy for their fair evaluation.

Effect on 27 thousand students

In Indore, 27 thousand students gave the exam at 9 centers of NEET UG 2025, who are now confused about the future. On May 4, many students came out of the exam center desperate and crying. Prabhu Panda, a student, said, ‘Last year I was getting MBBS but I thought I would prepare for one more year so that AIIMS would be found. My future was ruined.

The father of student Samriddhi Aggarwal said that all the parents were shocked to see the condition of the exam center. There were no examination arrangements.

For the first time government schools were made centers

This was the first time for NTA when government schools were made the exam center of NEET UG where there was no power backup. In fact, this year, government schools were made centers after a dispute over NEET UG exam in 2024 last year. Earlier, private schools and computer labs were made exam centers.
