Ukrainian President Volodimir Jailonsky on Thursday during a press conference at the Ukrainian Embassy in Ankara, Turkia.
Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonski said on Thursday that he would send his team to Istanbul in Turki to interact with the Russian delegation. It will be headed by Defense Minister Rustom Umrov. If this happens, there will be direct talks between the two countries for the first time.
Jailonsky said that he took this decision because he respects US President Donald Trump, Turkish President Erdogan. Jailonsky said that there is no person who actually takes decisions in the Russian delegation.
According to reports, there may be talks between Ukrainian and Russian diplomats in Istanbul today. Russian delegation has reached Istanbul for this. In this, a delegation has arrived in the leadership of Putin’s colleague Vladimir Medinski from Russia.
Ukraine’s President Jailonsky arrived in Turkas on Thursday. He was welcomed by President Erdogan at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Putin refused to attend the talks
Earlier, there were discussions of Jailonski and Putin’s involvement first to participate in peace talks, but on Thursday, Kremlin said that Putin would not join it.
After Putin’s decision not to reach peace talks, Trump said, “I don’t think anything is going to happen until Putin and I come together, whether you like it or not.” But we have to solve it because many people are dying. ”
However, Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov said that Putin has no plans to meet Trump in the coming days.
Trump spoke to reporters in Air Force One on Thursday. They were going from Qatar to Abu Dhabi.
Jailonsky said- will never give Russia their land
Jailonsky has earlier stated that Ukraine will never consider areas of Russia which are currently in Russia. He also informed that peace talks would move forward, but Ukraine will not compromise his land. The land belongs to Ukraine and it will always remain from Ukraine.
Russia has repeatedly demanded that four areas of Ukraine and Crimea be considered part of Russia. Crimea was captured by Russia in 2014. Former US President Donald Trump’s government had earlier indicated that perhaps Ukraine would no longer be able to withdraw all its old areas.
Jailonsky said- if Russia does not agree, there will be more restrictions
Jailonsci also said that if Russia did not take any concrete steps to end the ongoing war against Ukraine, it would be imposed even more stringent restrictions.
The United States and European countries have warned Russia that if it does not sign a 30 -day -long ceasefire proposal of the US support, new sanctions will be imposed against it.
Many European countries also said that if Russia did not stop the fight till Monday, they would impose ‘big’ and strict restrictions on it. However, this time limit was changed because it was expected that there could be a meeting between Russia and Ukraine this week.
Jailonsci said that Ukraine is moving towards such steps that lead a way to end the war, but only efforts from Ukraine are not enough. He said that the pressure should be from both sides. So they want the US, Europe and the rest of the countries to create concrete pressure on Russia and President Putin – at least through new sanctions.
