On Wednesday, Asha workers demonstrated their demands at Moga’s government hospital. Activists led by Asha Worker Union Principal Mandeep Kaur accused the government of vandalism.

The main demand of Asha workers is that they should be given a confirmed job. It was announced by the government, but no action has been taken so far. Also, an allowance of Rs 1000 per month has not been received by the central government for the care of the elderly for the last one year.
Demand for annual payment of 12 thousand rupees
Mandeep Kaur said that Asha workers of other cities have got their rights. Moga’s Asha workers have demanded the CMO several times and demanded an annual payment of 12 thousand rupees. But no hearing has been held so far. The protesters have warned that if their demands are not met, they will intensify their agitation.
