Police is not taking action against such accused. A few days after the incident, the police released 41 laborers arrested under the agreement with the action committee, but the promise of cancellation of the case against them has not been fulfilled yet.

The labor families have not yet arrested Dhanadhya Gamdur Singh Pappu and his family members in the oppression case, while a case has been registered against them in serious sections. So far, the root cause of the conflict has not resolved the water drainage dispute, but an attempt was made to fail the dharna.

During this, SP (D) Sandeep Vadhera assured that the demands will be resolved by meeting with the DIG on 13 May. Addressing the protest, the action committee convenor Manga Singh Verke, including other members and farmer leader Rajinder Singh Deep Singh Wala, announced that the struggle will continue until the workers get justice. The protests also demanded rehabilitation of migrant migrants displaced from Kotkapura.
