A erosion occurred in Abohar on Thursday night due to the severe hurdle in the Punjabi Minor near Dhani Shafi. Due to this, hundreds of acres of crops were submerged in water. The farmers cut the water from JCB to other fields by cutting the road from JCB at night. Despite this, water entered the houses.

Farmer Sona Sandhu said that the canal was detected at around 3 pm. He informed the canal department. But no officer reached to tie the canal till 10 am. Water was not reduced from behind. Due to this, water entered hundreds of acres of fields. Farmers were destroyed by crops of gentle, coral and green fodder.
Due to erosion in the canal, houses have been submerged along with farmers’ fields.
Farmer Akashdeep’s 10 acres of coral and 5 acres of narma crop drowned in water. Other farmers have also suffered losses. Farmer Jeet Singh said that he has been living here for decades. His house has fallen 4 times due to the canal breakdown. Now for the fifth time, water has entered the houses. He warned that if there is no quick withdrawal, houses can fall again.
