Know the story of actress Nikita Dutta in today’s success story…

Civilian Life was an alien world for me
My father was an officer in the Indian Navy. Because of this we have never stayed in one place. I was born in Delhi, but as soon as I was born, the transfer of Papa became Mumbai. After that, some time was also spent in Visakhapatnam. By the way, most of my time spent in Mumbai. I have spent my entire childhood and time up to tenth in Navy Cantonment.
There were only similar people around me. The outer world, which is called civilian life, was like the Alien World for me. Navy is base in Colaba in Mumbai. I did not even know that there is something else in Mumbai outside Colaba. For me, Mumbai meant Colaba. When I started going to college, I came to know about the outside world.
My childhood spent strict discipline
The defense atmosphere is very displayed. My childhood is spent in discipline. All in my family are in Armed Forces far and wide. I remember, my father always used to watch or read news. I was in the sixth grade, when my father had made a compulsory reading the news paper in the morning. At that time I did not even understand anything.
I used to sit for half an hour with a news paper as a punishment. Papa will ask, so some headlines used to rote. While giving Papa newspaper, Bombay Times or Entertainment used to remove the supplementary pages.
There was also a lot of restriction about films. It was not that a film was released and we would go and watch immediately. I remember when my elder sister was giving the tenth exam, the cable was removed from the house. In such disciplinary environment, the matter of acting could not come from anywhere.
However, whatever films I used to watch songs, I used to copy them later. Me and my friends used to play more acting games. If there was a function in school, I used to participate in dance or play. Acting was inside me, but there was so much restriction that it never realized this.

The path of acting opened after Miss India
I have studied at Xavier’s College in Mumbai. The role of college has been very important in my life. The college gave me the confidence that I can make acting my career. Miss India pageant was sometimes seen in childhood. Apart from this, there is a concept of the ball in the arred force. In the Navy, it is called a ball. It used to have a beauty pageant at small level. Its winner is called the Navy Queen. She later went and used to be a part of Miss India pageant. Aishwarya Rai, Neha Dhupia also started from here.
Apart from this, in the year 2000, when Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutt won the beauty pageant, they had only reports everywhere. In such a situation, I always had attraction about the beauty pageant. After coming to college, I got some courage. I first became a part of the Navy Queen and was a winner.
Then participated in Miss India of 2012. My name was included in the finalist. However, my parents did not take it seriously. He believed that I should do it, but I should prepare for UPSC, but after this event, the door of acting in my life is easily opened. My family members also did not stop me. I started getting support from his side.
Hearing thick fabric made yourself underweight
For me, there was a bad experience with learning Miss India pageant. I had no information about makeup, fashion. It was not even known how the ramp walk or how to face the camera. I learned many things from this place, but some things were also deeply shocked. I was shared there. I was constantly said that I am overweight. It had a profound effect on my mind.

I started thinking that maybe I am not fit for this pageant. This is why I could not win. I became very hard to myself and I started dieting. As a result, I became underweight. Everyone started asking why you have become so thin. What happened to me at that time is on my life till date. I am very objective about eating and workouts.
If you become anchor, I got acting offer
I understood one thing by doing Miss India that I do not want to make a career on the ramp. I became an anchor after that. I felt good as an anchor. Soon after that I received an acting offer, which I did not take serially. Then in the year 2014, I made a debut with the film ‘Lak Hum Deewana Dil’. However, my first film was badly beaten at the box office.
The audience rejected it. I was so disappointed with this film that I do not count it in my acting career. I tell people to start my acting with television and my first film ‘Gold’.
After the debut film flopped, I turned to television. Although I did not want to do TV serials. I was walking with the TV. Then those who knew and knew explained to me that this media is very powerful. In such a situation, I made a debut with the show ‘Dream Girl’. I worked in three serials from 2015 to 2018. All three of my serials made me popular among people from house to house. I tasted success from TV.
Trouble caused by the tag of TV actress
When my show ‘Ati’ was over in the year 2018, I decided that no TV show is to be done now. I wanted to work on the big screen again. When I started auditioning, the tag of the TV actress faced challenges. This was kept in mind at the time of casting. After a time, I started thinking on my decision whether I was doing right with myself?

On one hand, I was getting good money, identity and love of people from TV. I had made my place in TV, but due to my decision, I had to start with zero. I was auditioning again. This entire process was very difficult. During this time my parents supported and motivated me a lot. They told me that you do what you want to do. We are with you
Cited weight and color out of the film
When I moved to the film industry, only the tag of TV was not a challenge. I have faced many more problems. A director told me that everything is right, but my skin tone is dark. Because of this I am not fit for his film. Recently, a director removed me after casting me in one of his shows, while I have also worked with him first. He expelled me from the show saying that I am more fat according to the character.
Comeback film also did not get good response
After all the challenges, I had decided that whatever happens, I will work on the big screen. I was continuously auditioning, during this time I got an audition call for Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Gold’, I auditioned and selected. I worked hard for this film. It was a historical sports drama. I had a lot of expectations from this. I worked hard on workshop and character for the role. However, the expectations that were not fulfilled by this film. My heart broke once again.

‘Kabir Singh’ completely changed my life
I got the offer of ‘Kabir Singh’ during the film Gold. I did not give any audition for this film. I received a call from Sandeep Wanga Reddy’s office two weeks before the shooting. I was told that ‘Arjun Reddy’ is a film, its Hindi remake is going to be made. I was asked if you have seen ‘Arjun Reddy’? I replied in Na. I was told that you first see Arjun Reddy, then Sandeep will meet you.
After watching the film, he met Sandeep. He asked me two-four questions and called me to the set directly. I did not take ‘Kabir Singh’ so seriously. I just agreed to consider it as another film. My feeling was not this film, but when ‘Kabir Singh’ was released and the kind of response it received was quite shocking for me. A lot changed for me after working in ‘Kabir Singh’. The tag of TV with my name gradually disappeared. After this film, I became a new identity.
The success of ‘Kabir Singh’ was that I did not have to audition. In any project, I started calling directly from the director for the directing. I started getting films one after the other. After this I worked with Emraan Hashmi in ‘Daybook’, Abhishek Bachchan in ‘Big Bull’. People have given so much love to my series ‘Khaki the Bihar Chapter’. I also won the Best Supporting Actor Award for this.
My film ‘Jewetf’ made trending in 56 countries
Recently my film ‘Jewelthiff’ has been released on Netflix. In this I have worked with Saif Ali Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat. Saif was the producer of my career’s first film ‘Lai Hum Deewana Dil’. Today I am working on their opposite. This is like a dream to be fulfilled. Our film Netflix was trending in 56 countries. I also consider it my achievement.
