The Philippines Army Chief of Staff General Romeo Broner Raisina arrived in Delhi to join the dialogue.
The Philippines has invited India and South Korea to join the ‘squad group’ to compete with China’s expansionist policies in South China-C.
The Philippines Army’s Chief of Staff General Romeo Broner Raisina arrived in Delhi yesterday i.e. on Wednesday to join the dialogue. Here he discussed China’s illegal occupation strategy in South China-C.
General Bron said that China is building 3 Artificial Islands in South China-C. Along with this, Mischf is also preparing a 2.7 km runway for air defense and missile systems on Reef.
General Broner said-
We believe that if China is not stopped, it will control the entire South China Sea. China also claims Taiwan Strait which is a violation of international norms.
India, South Korea and China have not yet given any public response to this statement.

What is South China Sea dispute
- The area of South China Sea is between Indonesia and Vietnam, which is spread over 35 million square kilometers. It is believed that there is a plurality of natural resources in this area.
- There is an old dispute between many countries over the South China Sea regions. This dispute is about the rights and dominance over the maritime sector. It includes Parasel and Sprotley. Many countries have described their full rights on Parasel and Spratly Islands and many countries have partly described it as part of their control area.
- It is believed that many huge reserves of oil and gas are buried in the sea of South China Sea. These reserves have become a cause of dispute between many countries in this region. Apart from this, there are dozens of uninhabited rocky areas, sandy coasts, coral islands etc., which are the cause of dispute. The sea route here is also very important for business.
Important for India too
- About 55% of the total trade of India leading to the sea is from this area, so the South China Sea is very important for India. The tension grown here may affect India’s maritime business. If China succeeded in capturing the entire region, then India’s trading ships will be affected by the arrival of business ships.
- The Vietnam government had signed an agreement with ONGC, Oil and Gas Company of the Government of India. Accordingly-ONGC will discover oil and gas in small islands of Vietnam. China had strongly opposed this, while India said that the South China Sea is for the whole world. America also says the same.
- The United States says that many countries have maps that show that for a century, India, Arab and Malay traders used to carry their sea ships to the South China Sea and traded through this sea.
