US President Donald Trump has now targeted foreign films. He has announced that 100% tariff will be taken on the release of films made abroad in America.
Trump posted his social media platform Truth on social social on Sunday night and told that he has also given orders to the US Department of Commerce.
Trump has alleged that films made abroad can spread propaganda in the US. He has described it as a threat to the national security of America.
How the tariff will apply, not clean at the moment
Donald Trump may have made 100 tariffs on films made abroad. But at the moment it is not clear how it will apply.
Most films are shot in many countries of the world. In countries like Britain, Canada, they also offer tax in production of films. Because of this, films are being shot in these countries instead of America.
Trump has already expressed concern that the films have started making outside the US. He said that if someone does not want to make a film in America, then it should be taxed.
