The water dispute has intensified after the Central Government’s instructions to provide 8500 cusecs of water to Haryana. Today (Sunday), Punjab SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the letter, Badal gave the Prime Minister to the issue of water
.
Sukhbir wrote- Punjab’s river water is being looted by some excuse and due to this, Punjabi is feeling isolated.
It has also revealed that Rajasthan and Haryana have always been illegal beneficiaries of river water in Punjab and the recent decision to release an additional 8500 cusecs of water to Haryana by the Bhakra Beas Management Board has discriminated against the farmers of Punjab.
Badal today wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to end the reasons, due to which there have been many unnecessary problems in the past. Badal said that the first priority of the nation should be to remove the reasons for (proper complaints of Punjab) and prevent the painful past from reworning.
SAD Pradhan Sukhbir Singh Badal wrote a letter to Prime Minister Modi.
Just justice with my kingdom
He said that justice should be ensured with my state on the principles applicable in interstate disputes across the country on the issue of water of the river. He said that Punjabis do not want any favor but they need justice.
Badal condemned Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, saying that he and his party repeatedly promise that “every farm in Haryana and Rajasthan will be irrigated by the water of Punjab’s river, which weakens the real claim of Punjab.” Badal said that Punjab does not have a single drop of water additional.
Chief Minister Mann is playing with fire with his doubleness without understanding the seriousness of this issue. They should end their dual talk. ‘
Sukhbir Badal said that Haryana has used more water than its part of rivers, which was wrongly allocated to him, because it has no right over that water. Instead of being grateful to Punjab, he is shamelessly demanding even more water.

Why water dispute started Haryana has been demanding additional water for a long time, while Punjab says the state already has a huge shortage of water resources and the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SIL) dispute is already in the judicial process. In such a situation, giving more water to Haryana will be against the interests of Punjab.
At the same time, any decision taken by BBMB will directly affect the supply of farmers and drinking water of Punjab. Therefore, the Punjab government has decided to bring this matter to the Legislative Assembly so that a collective decision can be taken by taking the opinion of all the parties.
Political temperature rises This whole incident has caused a new warmth in the long -running water dispute between Punjab and Haryana. While the Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab is calling it a serious issue related to the interests of the state, the Haryana government is calling it a fair demand as per the recommendations of the Center.
Now everyone’s eyes are on the special session of the Punjab Legislative Assembly on May 5 tomorrow, where it will be decided what the Punjab government takes on it.
